About the Play

The Rowland High School Theatre Department is proud to present "Medea," their production for the Spring of 2014. Featuring a talented cast of students and a skilled crew, the play will recreate the well-celebrated, Ancient Greek tragedy written by esteemed tragedian Euripides.

The play centers on Medea, the protagonist who responds questionably when she finds her position in the Greek world threatened. It furthermore chronicles the caustic revenge she takes against her husband Jason, who betrays her by leaving her for another woman.

"Audiences will enjoy the interaction of the actors with love musicians and the intense drama of this unique play." says director Patricia Deleon. "I think even high school students will be able to relate to Medea's plight."

Prices are $7.00 presale and $8.00 at the door. The play will be held at the Ellis Jordan Theatre on campus, and parking is available in the the school lot. Dates run on March 19 and from March 27-28 at 7:00 pm, and March 21 at 8:00 pm. There will also be earlier shows on March 29, which start at 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm. Enjoy a fun night full of good company, good music, and good entertainment!

The John A. Rowland Theatre Department has been organizing productions for over 40 years. These biannual plays are largely student-run with all proceeds benefitting the growth and development of the department.
